About Cathy

Hi! I'm Cathy Hutchison, a yogi with a day job in marketing.

Like most people with a career, I am well acquainted with The-World-of-Demands.  In fact, prior to practicing yoga, it was metaphorically kicking my butt.

The first time I wandered into a yoga studio, I had this idea that yoga classes might make me look like the women on the front of Yoga Journal. Instead, I left that class keenly aware of how much my inner world had changed in just an hour. (My husband noticed, too. He said I should go back.)

As I practiced over time, I began to feel less and less like a hamster running in a wheel. Work-life balance was no longer an elusive pursuit.

The more I studied, the more I learned tools to shed tension, improve my breathing and reverse stress. Practices like asana (the physical poses), pranayama (breathing techniques), bhavana (setting intention) and meditation are now part of my daily life.

Whether you've been practicing for years, or have just begun exploring yoga, this blog is designed to support you in your practice so you can experience joy and freedom in a world of demands.
